Secret Moon With one eye on a dawn the color of bone and an ear frantically pressed to the phone I count the cigarette butts on the ground and I count on you to come around with a glaring, staring sun on the rise I cradle my secret moon deep inside I see your face in my cold breath flying hearing your voice in the wind sighing within my pale palms as I light up within me pale psalms breaking up and wanting to be near you soon and wanting to share a secret moon within a whisper of time within a listing heart of mine sinking under these ribcage skies hearing the wind in your sighs seeing your cold breath on my face latticework tears of leather and lace I cradle my secret moon deep inside wondering upon my wandering pride wandering upon the wonder of you with one eye on an endless sky blue with a memory of your baptism kiss and an ear frantically pressed to my wrist I count the pulse in 4/4 time unbound and I count on you to come around "Use your heart as a weapon and it hurts like heaven" -Coldplay,'Hurts Like Heaven' |

I caught myself trying to sing this poem until at the end I realized why. It is a song. Seems we both have our thoughts turned to the moon today. ~~ How come abbreviated is such a long word? ~~ |
