     You Said...

You said to keep looking for you
in the forests, on the roads, city streets.

I looked into his brown eyes
and his green eyes
and his blue eyes
but see that they are not yours.

I listened to his voice
for the words that will
unlock, release my soul
but it isn't your voice that I hear.

I draw near to feel his heart
vibrate against mine
but my spirit is not quickened.

I linger long enough
to inhale his scent
but am disappointed
it isn't your essence.

You said I'll find you
if I keep looking, so,
I will continue
until you find me
and we unveil each other.

E.M.L.- 2011

I will continue
until you find me
and we unveil each other.

And it will be worth the wait... and all the disappointing searches. *S*

Wonderfully composed and delightfully given to we readers, and I for one know that you will find him, or he you, or maybe you two will just bump into each other on the street. That'll work . . .

Perfect, dear Ebonygirl. Beautifully written and so smart, you rock girl. ( an expression I have learned here ... I think it fits!).

You will know in the very instant when there will be the perfect match, the perfect eye-touch.

Love,
Margherita

Maybe it has not happened yet, because you didn't hold the "exploring gaze" for long enough!

Timing, timing, girl!
