An Autumn Fall Fallen leaves rustle round me Another change of season - And three more long months 0f searching for the reason. Why the seasons have their moods? Why good things can’t stay the same? Why the rules keep on changing About the plays in life’s game? Why can’t this gentle autumn With its cool nights and warm days Stay like this the year around Instead of changing, always? Why is the cold winter’s night So damned dark and so dammed long? Why can’t I find the right words To that one perfect love song? Oh, I so agree, Abe, and wish that we all could find that one perfect love song that would last and not dim with the winter's chill. |
