Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Looking for my elephant
in a cherry tree
He painted his toenails red
so he is very hard to see
He wasn’t in the refrigerator
just his footprints in the Jello
wouldn’t you know
So I decided to build a trap
and catch him that way instead
First I dug a great big hole
threw in some ashes
and around the top
a ring of peas
Patiently I waited
for my elephant
to come and take a pea
and when he did
I kicked him
in the ash hole
victoriously

Oh jeez. Now you are a comedian, and a damn good one at that. Your talents are sprouting all over the place.

Jaime, thanks for the read.  Yes this isn't my usual fare but Doc Moose is having too much fun with his puns.  I wanted to play too!

I didn't know poems could be so funny. Mine aren't. Maybe later they will be.
