WINDY HILLS
25 August 2011

No harm or hate will touch
your tomorrows
for you and I
will weave
what Jig saw
wilting at mind tills
and paint it into Time
and let it drag on
forever
in slow motion
for
darkness,
the other side of light,
enhances light
which embraces darkness,
which should be savoured
like a secret and favoured
place of refuge.

I started to pull out certain parts to comment on, but the whole poem is the best part.
The reader is almost certainly drawn in feeling the sense of protection and freedom.
Opposites being complemented by each other, although different, one without the other would be impossible – light and darkness make possible each.
This is a beautiful poem, and refuge.

Diana,

this is a poem I would love to hear
in your voice. As was said above,
all stands perfect as one poem, but
then there was the wilting line, and
that one kept me solid.

paint it into Time

I especially love this expression, but enjoyed your ponderings on light and darkness very much too.

Thank you, Ida.  So am I!  But I am glad I do, because it brings me much joy, though many tears, but I can handle the tears most of the time because they are a form of release.  Smiles!

Thank you for your very kind words, Paul.  Smiles.

Thank you Sunshine.  I don’t have the technological equipment to record the poem, but I am honoured that you would have liked to hear it in my voice.  Smiles.

Thank you, Margherita, for imbibing my poem so perfectly and finding it good to savour.  Smiles.

This needs be sent back to the top.

"the other side of light,
enhances light
which embraces darkness,
which should be savoured
like a secret and favoured
place of refuge."

a poem within a poem. This could stand alone.

Like Frost
"I have been one acquainted with the night."

It is a "favoured place of refuge."

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Dear Owl-This is awesome.  It's all great but it was the ending that stuck a chord in me...your delivery was powerful and as always your words have reached out and moved me...excellent poem, Owl.

Love-Faith

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

Ford, thank you for sending this to the top again.  I am very honoured to be compared to Robert Frost (again), one of my favourite poets - and to see a favourite stanza from Longfellow’s “The Day Is Done” both in one response.

Thank you Faith, for your warm response.
