What demons stalk your fevered sleep one step behind, fire red eyes, hot breath rank, with sharpened teeth and goulish lips. Hands curled cruelly like eagles talons shredding the air, closer, coming ever closer. Fleeing for your life in perpetual slow motion. More real than flesh and blood, heart racing, cold sweats, confusion reigning, screams pierce your sleep induced torpor, malevolence cloaked, transcending dimension. Shadows chased swiftly away, light beckoning, my arms enfold you safely within, as sophorific sleep subsumes into sanctuary. |
