Addiction An addiction has overcome me, you. Angels dare not, instead, only that fool, me… I inject your color into my veins, your fragrance controls my mind, your lips’ softness a trance… Slowly my eyes shutter and close, a sweet murmur. Swaying quietly, I see your words at minds’ glance… Fire and ice - water and earth, one swallowed by the other, wincing in agony, or rapt ecstasy, debased to loss and gain… That which is yes is no, pleading an end, and no want to wait, but to go. Having conduit mirror through your eyes is you with me, analyzed… But sleep soon takes hold, and dreams unfold, a silent slumber. Awakened only by chance, to start it all again, addiction… * |

Oh, such sweet, sweet addiction, that never quenches this thirst but only questions seductively, why didn't I write this first? "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy |
