. I have handled the loneliness Of being free pretty well And yet there you were It was a life picnic Those I had known After and before were there Many of whom I had not seen Though I wanted to For a very long time They came and greeted me There were smiles laughter And other expressions of affection You could say despite myself I seem to have managed some friends So the air grew silent around you As everyone could recognize By my change in attitude Who you were You drew too near We kissed we hugged We were a couple You talked with the others Empowered by surrender They didn’t know what to do And people began to die And I stood there resigned A man condemned in love Wanting only to disappear . |

This really touches me... I was completely hooked after the first 3 lines. I think I went through a similar time warp in March... if so, you have my sympathies. |
