I think of ashes when I walk When the clouds part As people seem to gaze down at their children A timeless hope for something new, raw But as age comes, hairs bristle We become a fleeting moment In an otherwise evolving world Between the night The fall of our ancestors We rise to be something better, But through the ashes Sometimes comes misdirection Follies of the frail heart Ashes can build great resolve When one is vulnerable They can take you to places That no else has been to They can bleed the heart of agony The pain that seethes itself through your pores Until one day it was all worth it The fight, Ashes beneath our steely resolve [This message has been edited by Tomer (08-10-2011 09:06 AM).] |
