Are We To Dance On Broken Feet? |

I find no forgiveness in heart's ache grown tired of waiting for the halt, tired of casting patiently for lame of thought to rise to seize and share what could have been, sane thoughts in breaths gone by, tired shrewish rulers arguing about ceilings on debts we'll never pay refusing cuts to obviate the very debts in play, liars and deniers dancing twist upon the truth as if cleverness with words could become their own defense singing to vast waves within whose grasp our ship of state is sinking empty promises empty lies pathetic cries of guilty sham denial, self-serving fingers pointing, all brutal desperate tries to sate a gluttony of rats. ©2011 by icebox |

I was talking to an avatar the other night about this very thing... We happened to be dancing at the time, too. She told me she was from New Zealand, and I asked her what the government was like there, and she replied: "reasonably socialist" *chuckle* I kinda dug it. (She had a pretty nice avi, too.) Sometimes I watch that channel, and I think that we should go back to passing the peace pipe and talking sticks... I dunno, lovie. It's all so much pointless noise. I think I'd rather play etch-a-sketch with the cracks in my screen...and read your poetry, of course. *serenity blaze has not been paid for this endorsement.* love you! |

I always enjoy the depth and truth of your poetry even when it is a brutal truth, Charlie. Ida |

I have sat here twice with an open, empty box on my computer screen and tried to think of how I can adequately express myself. I can't. I appreciate your poem and I feel it. I can almost taste the disgust that I have for our "leaders". A |

"liars and deniers dancing twist upon the truth as if cleverness with words could become their own defense" very true lines, fine writing. "The secret behind survival of mankind is kindness and love within our hearts" |

Lets see.... That was a left upper-cut with round-house kick and a straight punch to the nose. Right? Nice venting. JL |
