You should have been here this morning, your head nestled softly upon my shoulder. The sun slowly brightening the room, and me slowly getting bolder. You should have been here beside me while the children were at play. Laughing as we played along, enthralled in the enjoyment of the day. You should have been here when all was lost and the darkness gripped my soul. Holding me tight and kissing me softly, my salvation your only goal. You should have been here as I wept, for what still cannot be. Telling me that it was all right, to wait and you will see. You should be here when I need you, even on my brightest day. When the world turns, all is well, and everything is going my way. You should be here to say I do, and look me lovingly in the eye. To tell the world that you are mine as the rest of our lives pass slowly by. You should be here when I'm old and gray, with nothing else left to do. Smiling at me and holding my hand, as you again say, I love you. |

I feel like I'm imposing upon a tender moment, but, I just have to tell you, Tuffluv66, I love your love words. ebonygirl |
