Oh my, how many songs there are
that break my heart in two.
If I could play only one
on me ole Les Paul, just for you...

I suppose I would.

No one hears my chords and tabs,
finger-picking melancholy strings,
ah, morning has broken, time to sleep.
Will I dream of happy things?

I suppose I could.

Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young,
Just A Song Before I Go,
yes, if you didn't guess it,
it's the only one I know.

I suppose it's good.

I've run out of words to sing,
paragraphs to write in rhyme,
tears well up in these eyes
of mine,
maybe it's "movin' on" time.

I suppose I should.

Dixie, I'm probably the last person that should give advice to anyone here... but I feel the need to share with you words someone once shared with me.

They told me, "don't let your happiness depend on other peoples reactions to you. In other words, your chords and tabs need to please you, before they will ever please anyone else... or at least in your perception.

I, personally, have always admired your poetry... though the pain and darkness behind some of it is deep enough to disturb even me. ((HUGS)) to you.

Aaaaaah Passing shadows.
We must be the same (odl) age, as you make me remember those old songs from the fseventies so long ago while I was in high school and that form the background sound track to so many of the first times of my life, the laughter and the tears, the shadows of misty yester years.
I want to write something that will capture the vast sweep and the rushing of those incredible years, the ones that finally dropped me here.
It is more stuff than I could ever write down either in a reply or on Pip.
Maybe some day, or maybe not…

Daddy Goose, I was born in 69 but hung out with my brother lots during the 70s...kinda got stuck there when the 80s weren't very good. I do so love the 70s and could name hundreds of songs, another time. Yes indeed, what a fine time.
