Morning Choice |

Breath or Death, Too late she wakes to living, To too much pain, to too little gain, And to none for the giving. Just to breath the air, To attempt again after coughing pain, Did she dare too much air So shallow sips and attempts to sit Slowly, So slowly the room stops spinning, Another day is now beginning. Pills stave off Death, So is said and so she’s read And beside her bed are plenty, White ones, yellow ones, and red, Grab a hand full and wash them down Pills taken she’s not dead And bare feet touch the cold ground. Clothlessly she moves, Closets of cloth dreams weak at the seams, She grabs a robe alone She wanders off In fine skin over old bone With a cough. Gloom |
