As darkness precludes the light

  and day diminishes, inevitably, into night;

you search for what needs to be found,

  silently, unbidden, your heart staunchly bound.

Always in pursuit of what you need,

  for it's a desire, that you longingly feed.

The haunted look of a fighter in your eyes,

  there's as many failed attempts as there are tries.

Yet always, your continually drawn on,

  trying to capture a piece, that's forever been, gone.

Some days you stumble, fatigued, so alone;

  wishing not to go on, but it's set in stone.

It's a primordial need, more than you can withstand,

  so hard to find, but your desires demand.

The continuous prowling of a hunter in pursuit of prey,

  it drives you on, day after arduous day.

Guardedly, you finally move on at last,

  always looking forward, but recalling the past.

Things you want to leave masked, black marks upon your soul,

  still they are behind you, you've returned to the goal.

You seek, as simple as it seems,

  that thing that continuously stalks your dreams;

your hearts desire, whats causing all this strife,

  that one, true, love of your life.

I coudn't read this enough .... in it somewhere it had a way of helping me to put certain things in my life into perspective.
