How do I bridge the chasm
of our differences
with only the magic of
  my words,
ephemeral as the dancing
shadows in the boundless
  evening moonlight,
or the fleeting fantasies
cloud-sculpted by a
gentle summer breeze.
I have but little left
  to offer you
save the infinite promise
of an ever-loving heart.
