With a sigh,
There was a tear in her eye;
It fought to stay inside,
Not be a streak upon her cheek,
It wanted to hide for pride
And she didn’t want to seem weak
So she went away
With things still left to say.

Having done that "I will not cry, I will not cry, I will NOT cry in front of him" retreat too many times, I can appreciate how well you've captured the situation... great write!
