When Balladeer was little folks he used to like to draw His favorite subject people was his good ol' Maw and Paw "Deer" weren't much of an artist then they both looked just alike But even at that early age Ol' "Deer" was quite the tyke To help to tell the two apart he drew some cloves by Paw and took his drawings to a show in Moosejaw, Arkansas The judges looked at all his work and said "That's pretty bad, you see we can't tell Maw from Paw, Best keep your day job, lad" To which young Balladeer replied "You judges ain't so smart, these cloves right here by my ol' Paw's how you tell them apart" "Now I may be a simple lad least I kin understand when you draws them there cloves in there it's the cloves that makes the man" |

Doc, your vernacular Ain't that spectacular Your punnybone's fractured at best. Cloves make the man, you say? Allow me to say, OY VEY!! Methinks you should give it a rest!! |

Dr Moose, with the magnificent antlers (I forget the word Alison used which is probably more correct for moose), you gave me a happy little giggle - I knew the idiom was coming, after your last batch, but couldn't guess which one until it arrived! Enjoyed the deer's response too! Owl |

Balladeer, Chuckling as I write, "OYE VEY", "give it a rest", heck no, I'm just gettin' started, lol. Doc Ida, Thank you, you're a dear for saying so. Doc Owl, Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoy our "hopefully humorous" little exchanges on here, I'm just glad to be able to share the fun. Doc |

This might be funny to some but I find it insulting to a dear friend of mine. Cloves indeed, for shame. |

OK Rose, Thanks gal, I would have replied earlier, but I've been keeping busy trying to annoy, er, entertain Balladeer. Doc Word Weaver, Sorry, I can assure you no actual "cloves" were maligned in the making of this, only Balladeers' somewhat crude rendering of them. Doc |
