..F ....a ......l ........l ..........i ............n ..............g ................~Dreams~ How sad the nights, as darkened shadows loom, The moon in all it's glow has hid it's face. For dreams of yesterday have turned to gloom. Treasured memories, leave no imprint, trace. Her hazel eyes that changed from blue to gray, Hold back the rivers flow of lonely tears. And yet a glint, a twinkle, seems to play Upon your face, eyes search to quell the fears. To wish upon a lonely star, it seems In hopes that out there, someone captures sight. Then two on one will reach to share the dreams That fall below to rest upon this night. The falling dreams once shared of yesterday Will someday rise on high to light the way. M/M(inspired...when once I could write) "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." Writing is like riding that darned old bicycle, you never forget how. This is a lonely poem about tears and solitariness. But it clings to hope, however faint, that there really is someone out there for the narrator. Nice work. ~ Clones are people two ~ |

Very emotional render here Maureen and the depth of feeling is so well delivered. I think you're quite an inspired and gifted writer. Eric Love does not look after it's own interests. |

Hi, Maur! Good stuff! Poetry uses fuel, like anything else, to get moving (or motivated.) That fuel is inspiration, and it's our job as writers to find that fuel to keep our works flowing. You may find, that a 'different inspiration' may provoke a different and new writing style. Lots of buddy love to ya, M, Jeff |

This is an awesome poem. Everyone has to have motivation to write. Even I get stuck in a writers' block. Sometimes for a long time. I so know the feeling. I truly enjoyed the read!!! When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

Maureen, you are very mistaken if you think you can no longer write. Though sad, this was very beautiful, as always. Owl |

You have written some of the best poetry I've ever read and you can write some of the best poetry I'll ever read ... what you can't do, is give up |

JerryPat, I love your thoughtful responses. Sometimes life is just in limbo and I am not so good at that dance Eric, I reread recently some summaries I received from a class that was necessary for me to take to rebuild my self-confidence and many of them said I was exceptionally emotional. As I once explained, my father (when I was very young) said there would never be a lack of water in our home! Thank you. Karilea, thank you for always being here. Jeff, I think I need an overhaul. Hugs to you too. The_Doctors_Angel_32, thank you again and if I haven't welcomed you yet, it's nice to read you here. Diana, bits and pieces of old to help me with the new...Thank you. Rex, You have always been so kind to me on here and I thank you for that. M |

Oh no, no, no, no. I beg to differ. Love IS blind. And deaf, dumb and stupid, too. Sometimes willfully ignorant and often masochistic. Oh, yeah, great poem, too. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· "Look! Crumbs on his jacketses... Heeee took it!" |

Maureen, You write lonely with so much longing and beauty of words. I am so glad that I went back in time to find this. Alison |

Maureen The magic of morning between the first light of day and sunrise has long been a ritual for me : Brew coffee, open the pages of Pip, bring a steaming cup of morning heaven to my computer, do keyboard magic and see what Maureen has written while I slept. When and if you ever reach the stage of "when I could write" my friend, I"ll hang on your every word and maybe steal a line or two to stir the kettle of my own. I"d be happy to write the worst you can do. Hang in there, my friend, my heart, always next to yours. Jimmy |
