WISTFUL EYES 15 July 2011 I spread out my arms ballerina-wide to draw the drapes on the soft hours, but the comfort of the sky kissing the sun goodbye in rose and gold fire, lingered on my tongue and stole my whispers and carried them over the horizon and far away wrapped in lace on a milk-white horse and my arms slipped to my side in awe and I didn’t. Please tell Boodha-darling that Wol replied to his delightful and unexpected message to her in "Your Greatest Gift to Me". Thank you, Ida. I am glad I could bring you some magical moments. Owl |

You paint such a magnificent scene with your pen... I read it and read it again... and only then remembered to breathe! Beautiful work! |

Now---see here is how a poet shows us the world-- the world in words..words that add to a sum far more than their individual worth. And yet they are used with economy, not one too many. You know how to add them up very well to gain these means, as did the classic poets.. Your poem reminds me of "Wind, and window Flower"..by Robert Frost..only yours is far more sensual. Diana says: " ...the comfort of the sky kissing the sun goodbye in rose and gold fire, lingered on my tongue and stole my whispers and carried them over the horizon" Frost says: "But the flower leaned aside And thought of naught to say, And morning found the breeze A hundred miles away." The morning found the "breeze a hundred miles away".(Frost) The sunset carried your whispers "over the horizon" Both poems are just grand romantic pieces, though I love yours a little more, because of the deeper imprint of sensuality........ ;-) |

Thank you, Karen. I can see how much you enjoyed it and I am glad. Thank you, Prasad. Ford, I am blown away by your praise. Robert Frost is a favourite poem of mine. However, I don’t know ”Wind and Window Flower.” I wil google it and save a copy. And that you preferred my poem to Robert Frost’s – well, that leaves me speechless for the next 3 lines! Thank you for telling me. I am going to get a swollen head, now! Owl |
