I would have liked
to tell you
that
despite your sarcasm
and insensitivity
and insults,
I didn’t mean
to hurt you
and that you must have
misunderstood
something I said
somewhere
but I can hardly do that
if you don’t want
to have anything to do with me again!
So, all I can say,
though you won’t hear it,
is your
“True” and “Oh well”
and my
“Have a good life.”

It amazes me at times
what people don't bother
to listen to, especially when
those who finally have a moment
to share their thoughts,
and then are so rudely
ignored.

Yes, Karilea, it is very unfortunate that in such closeness as one can have, there can be such a separation as wide as the ocean and as insurmountable as the sky.

Thank you, for your kind words, Alison.  Yes, it is a sad road to travel, but I am a lot tougher than I look, and there is beauty on the sides of that road, if only one looks, and I do.

Thank you, Bruce.  Yes, relationships are difficult because two people can never be of exactly the same mind and spirit, but if both parties really care for each other and walk at least a mile a day in each others’ moccasins, either they can make the relationship blossom, or see that their worlds and their values are too different to make it, and part amicably, albeit with regret.

Thanks, Alison. Yes, I am tough, but sometimes the toughness slips for a while, but then, à la Frank Sinatra, I pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again - or not, as the case may be. Beeeg smiles.
