the dreaded porcupine which everyone shuns like its her fault she has a coat of sharp spines Ignorant fools they know not that the prickliest are often so, only to protect a tender heart ----- Image Credit -Trina. |

Very tender write, Trina . . . er . . . However and all that . . . The ones I came into contact with were without hearts . . . They had those spines and on the end of each one was a fish hook which inflected measurable pain and anguish . . . Just saying . . . |

Yes, that is sadly the case. Maybe one day there might be a realization that the showing of a tender heart is the best protection ever but I'm not too sure that the world is ready for that yet. |

I think it was Mae West (or maybe Jersey Snookie) that spoke of the porcupine wistfully...so many ways to get pricked so little time..or something along those terms. enjoyed this one lady |

Hafa Adai, distant cousinly human from that foreign Island, Guam. I'm Patrick from the CNMI, displaced and dispossessed for (possibly) ever. Pleased to meet you and equally pleased to read your poetry. I love the sensitive beauty of this poem and it's insight. Magic. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· "Look! Crumbs on his jacketses... Heeee took it!" |

I've heard they can be the friendliest animals ... I don't think I'd want a life compared to that of a porcupine ... too lonely enjoyed |

The Porcupine may be spiny, but not on all sides. They have a very soft (and vulnerable) underside. Wonderful write, Trina, and great picture, too. Amaryllis |

Indeed Rex, it seems like a lonely life. Thanx. Thanx for looking in Faith. Garapan, I know the feeling. Amaryllis, Yeah, but that seems like a tough area to reach Thanx. -Trina. |
