Imaginary portraits line the walls stretched over time The renderings of one more skilled I see in my minds' eye Within their midst hang landscapes shaded in such subtle hues Returned now to the gallery of one Sir Rulian Blue. Gone now are those crude images, a more discerning eye Has captured vital elements of Earth, and wind, and sky Then bound them to the canvas with a masters' skillful stroke The years between us fall away as one might shed a cloak. For he and I are much the same, though playing different parts As seekers both we strive to find that which improves our art A worthy quest for any man, though one which never ends Well met are we Sir Rulian Blue, I'm proud to call you "friend". You serve as inspiration, guiding me to do my best Now, aren't you glad that's over and you got this off your chest? |

I enjoyed your sonnet. Excellent meter, and fine images. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Very well done, Doc. Well, we have a ballad and a sonnet. How would Sir Rulian Blue look in a villanelle?? |
