In prayer like pose she greets the morning her scarlet blossoms drape the hanging sky the birds redeem the crumbs they left last evening, before the chains of darkness claimed them hostage to the night and I inhale the fresh brewed coffee papering my doorstep the news of morning which warns tomorrow though the ink is thick with yesterday and all returns with the never ending cliffhangers and woven themes that join the sparrow to the sycamore and the woman to the mirror, left to ponder the connection of it all. |

EmmaRose, I love wandering through people's ponderings, and yours were particularly interesting and painted so clearly and poetically as always - like a favourite painting that I would love to hang on my wall. Owl |

This was a well-conceived and well-written poem. I particularly love the lines, "the news of morning / which warns tomorrow / though the ink is thick / with yesterday" This is one of the better constructed poems I've read recently, including anything I might have belched out. ~ Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill. ~ |

quote: Very beautiful imagery, dear EmmaRose, to surround your morning coffee. The pulsations of life connect everything! Love, Margherita |

A good cup of coffee is the ultimate comfort food. "woven themes that join the sparrow to the sycamore and the woman to the mirror" An interesting comparison, and one that brings to mind on the transience of spring -- and youth. |
