My Mom's cover * Time with you * I mended your cover today. With every stitch you came closer to me. You were in the sun’s warmth in the birds’ song in the breeze and even in the needle. You smiled to me through the torn fabric to make me forgive Zelda the cat who adores the cover just like me but ignores its fragility and its precious charge of indelible memories. I mended your cover today and you were right here blessing me in such a special way spending your time with me. * |

Beautifully thought out, wonderfully written and the nearness you were to your mother is indescribable. ~ I have never been in a situation where having money made it worse. ~ |

Margherita, you have me in happy, tears - at the closeness of and mutual love between you and your mother, and you and Zelda-purr-meeow, and sad tears, that you and your mother are temporarily separated. The photo is . . . well, there aren't words to describe its beauty and its effect along with the poem. Hugs Owl |

There is great treasure in the homespun needlework of a loved one. Through their craft, we do feel their everlasting touch, the touch of their hands and heart put into the work they created for us. Besides the many memories, there is something about the tactile that we can further wrap around us. What wonderful memories you must have of your mom, you are blessed |

Margherita, I really enjoyed this so much. It started with the picture, and it just instantly brought me back to my grandmother (thank you for that) but more importantly it was beautiful in its description of a special bond between you and your mother. Very well written. Thank you for sharing with us! Dreamgal |

Thank you so much, dear Diana, for letting yourself be touched by this and for appreciating also the picture. I mended the cover in full sunshine, couldn't believe how many little "wounds" I found; oh those sharp claws of beloved Zelda! Thank you, dear Lori, for your loving comment. Yes my heart and my Mother's heart are linked for eternity. Thank you, dear Yann, for your generous and sensitive reply. Sewing by hand indeed is not often done anymore. My Grandmother was sooooooo good and when I do something I ask her to send me some of her patience! Dear EmmaRose, thank you for your wonderful comment and yes I am indeed extremely blessed for being the daughter of an outstanding Mother, who loved me with all of her heart (and continues to love me as I said). Thank you so much, dear James, for telling me you enjoyed this. Dear Dreamgal, thank you for your most loving comment. I am happy that you could remember your Grandmother through these words. Love and joy to all. Margherita |

Margherita - There is one thing about a mother's love. It's endless. You've proven that here with your love for her. This was poignant and beautiful. Much enjoyed the memories it gave me too. Thanks for writing it M. Namyh |
