![]() The belligerents challenge each other In color, and illusion-shapes, and disguises Projected through leaden, opaque skies- . A magic lantern is hidden, above the clouds- Making shadows play on a transparent screen, A display of candled images, of an ongoing battle For the people at audience, to enjoy as they see; . The gallery is mesmerized by skeletons That hang from roof lines, ghost-deceptions; But melting spring has made invasion Of the long held lands of ice, and winter Stabbing its sword into the heart of frozen, Slashing the bones that hung from the eves. . The sky is a concave mirror, reflecting images On the earths curved surface, the juggler of seasons Is a phantasm, always in the middle of the arch- The jesters left hand holds the ball of winter His right the sphere of spring...throws both high Above the arch of a snow flake rainbow..The balls Repeat, passing over each other; fatigue and inertia Choose the winner of the phantasmal battle Between passing time, and the armies of seasons. © 2011 ford hume note" (Phantasmagoria: A constantly changing medley of real or imagined images -as in a dream) ("wordnetweb" @Princeton edu) Also fantasmagorie, fantasmagoria) was a precinema projection ghost show invented in France in the late 18th century.) |

For the life of me, I can't imagine how this slipped my notice or anyone else's. This is a most poetic, anthropomorphic and fascinating description of the balance and metamorphosis of the seasons with electrifying visual images. Bravo, Ice. Owl |

Dear Ford, you have written an incredibly fascinating poem here. And I love the picture too with the infinity sign in it ... Great imagery and word choice. Change is the number one constant and oh ... it happens all at once. Mind boggling. Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

Owl "This is a most poetic..." A better thing for a poet to read about their work cannot be found...Thank You _________________________ Margherita "Change is the number one constant" Not only is it thenumber one constant, it is the only one. Rumi knew of impermanance..you probably learned that from him, and people like him. "Love your signature quote...:-) |
