Joining the circle the daisies and buttercups beneath the great sycamores the sparrows applaud latter day treasures dots on the battlefield trampled by soldiers with the brown boots of war. |

They will return and grow back, even prettier sometimes. ~ I have never been in a situation where having money made it worse. ~ |

Emma writes: "latter day treasures dots on the battlefield trampled by soldiers with the brown boots of war." To which Sandburg replies: "Pile the bodies high at Austerlitz and Waterloo. Shovel them under and let me work - I am the grass; I cover all." Great poems come from many different places..and many times are connected, complimenting each other.. enjoyed |

Utterly sad and disquieting, but very effective (though I doubt that the sparrows applaud ...). Nature is strong indeed and the meadow will bloom again, hopefully to never be a battlefield anymore. Thank you for this. Love, Margherita |

thank you kindly for the poignant replies. They are very much appreciated and taken to both heart and mind to ponder upon. |
