you could always pretend it was just a dream
and not something you ever considered really
but I guess we both knew how it would feel
when you were exposed to the sunshine accidently

and the dark you had kept as a residue there
suddenly became something she was feasting on
well beyond just the brim of to your liking
more deep seeded into that insatiable kneading

you said you felt silly with your glasses on
and everything else folded neatly on yesterday
but you did want to see those things you imagined
as they moved between the two sides of your caution

and became like stuffed animals with smile shoes on
