A monster that remains dramatically in your mind, you convey your sadness powerfully. The I's are justified, because we live the experience personally, it touches our core. It will never be the same, no. But hopefully reconstruction is given priority. Love and hugs, dear Karen. Margherita |

Technically, I guess there are five eyes. It's been one of those nights... And it's really not all about me, but in a way it is, because I was thinking how everything, every body changed. I have this friend, I've known him since I was fifteen. He'd stopped by about 2008. (where does the time go?) But I'd known his Mom, his Dad, his sister, his now ex-wife...etc. His Mom and Dad had passed away, he and his sister still talked via phone, and he had told me he was eeking out a decent living working for FEMA. He told me this while sporting a black eye. Pretty noticeable, so I mentioned it. His job, working for Fema entailed evicting people from FEMA trailers, after they were deemed too toxic for habitation. He actually cried, relating how he couldn't even reason with the people he had to serve notices to, how he needed the aid of the sheriff's office at times, and he was so stressed out that he had been sent to anger management classes--which is where he got the black eye. *smile* (I have to smile) So of course, I was like, "Y'got in a FIST fight in anger management class?" "There's a lot of very angry people there, Karen." And he just cried. We both cried. Then we both laughed. Angry people are people in pain. But I think you know that. ![]() I think about us, I think about the rest of the world, and I worry...I don't know why, because the truth is, none of us will survive ourselves. ![]() Love ya lady. It's been a hard day's night. *smooch* |

Sorry for the hard day's night (loved that song), but I know what you are talking about. Not personally, but my wife's family have never gotten over it. They are scattered, some refusing to come back to where the levee's broke. I sympathize with your friend, Serenity, but that IS funny that he'd get a black eye attending an anger management class. ~ Don't insult the alligator till after you cross the river. ~ |

Was BRAKE what you wanted,... i can see where it would fit but not sure that how you meant it. Other than that...terrific write. Moving and feeling and knowing, with that little spark of 'Oh god', just before. j. |
