Here we have a sphere... with corners. Dark, secret corners of hidden knowledge, forbidden knowledge, with the musty odor of age about it. Just waiting for that beam of light that will light the darkness with magic... once again. Time grows short... Ida Werrett |

Hello Ida, I love the nuances of the poem, knowledge isn't easy to share and the sphere with corner is captivating the reader with a sweet malancholy about life and time, thanks for the very good share. yann |

Good write, Ida! The magic will come but let's not wish it too soon - not that I think we have any say over it. When it's time, it's time. Helen |

Actually, the sphere refers to planet earth. |

The beam of light is a nice slant on the darkness. Enjoyed your thoughts~ |

I thought it had an environmental slant? but could just as easily be a political one? I liked it very much anyway, especially the "sphere with corners" what an apt description in these present times. |

Ida, this is a magnificent and well-blended combination of brilliance, beauty, sensitivity and superb construction – probably my most favourite of all I have read of you – but impossible to think of them all at once, so I could be wrong! I loved the the juxtaposition of paradox and paradoxical logic in the first 2 lines – and the ambiguity of the light, which could be a metaphor for hope or it could be ascent into Heaven (even if it is meant to be something else). This tiny compact poem so rich with innuendo is as beckoning as its shadows - and as explosive as the sun - and as tranquil as the moon. (Can you guess that I love it? LOL – and to think that I NEARLY didn’t see this masterpiece! Ouch and Whew!) Owl |

This poem will haunt me for quite some time, it has deep impact. There is no doubt manipulation of knowledge and that is disquieting. Time is growing short, but we owe it to our Earth to grow in awareness and make the improvement happen ... on so many levels. Thank you, dear Ida, for this profound poetic offering. It also made me think of Easter and what it represents ... a rebirth. Love, Margherita |

Thank you all for your kind replies. I have been thinking a lot lately about the path we are on and how hard it is to navigate blindfolded. Ida |

These are the places that we are invading.. "Dark, secret corners of hidden knowledge, forbidden knowledge," Not only invading the knowledge corners, but the physical corners.. Chief Seattle warned us: "the secret corners of the forest should never be heavy with the scent of men" Your poem is filled with wisdom, but will we make the right choices in time to save the planet? enjoyed the poem, Ida |
