MONET FEAST 7 April 2011 Whisper colours swirl and dance shadows into light, causing eyes to melt into Monet mists of slow forgotten memories; clambering into boats carefully so as not to spoil the paintwork and feeling the sun warm on wooden seats, dipping hands into cool waves, fingering harsh beautiful rocks, standing proud and tall, and splashed with a furious beauty, or smiling long sun-shadows, of fence-posts golden on snow, imbibing vibrant colour reflections in quiet dappled waters, watching as crowds move on a pulsing city street or lilies floating on a pond with a bridge halo, it is nobody’s wonder that I am lost in these paintings, and am not coming out. This is also quite an EXCELLENT 'write'! ... [and it reminds me of Ms. Kacy's many 'pennings' about Vincent] |

Not a bad place to be lost, Owl . . . er . . . Gogh might be a bit fearful though. ~ If you don't want gays in the military, make the uniforms ugly. ~ |

Thank you, Dreamgal. I am glad you thought so. Thank you, Karilea. Smiles. Thank you, Bruce. Yes, except that I don’t have the talent Kacy had . Thank you, Alison. I am deeply happy it had that effect on you! Smiles. Thank you, Lori. I am glad you think so. Smiles. Thank you, Jerry. I am not sure why Vincent van Gogh would be fearful though. Owl |

Quite exquisite, dear Diana! That is the secret of emotion-charged paintings ... when they really capture us and we are able to become part of it. In January I have been lucky enough to visit Musée d'Orsay à Paris where among others I deeply savored Monet too. Thank you for bringing back the memory! Love, Margherita |

Thank you Margherita for your beautiful reply. I am sure you feel the way I do, in such a museum or art gallery - that you wish you could spend hours in front of each painting . . . Owl |

What a beautiful world to lose oneself in. ![]() You vividly describle this Monet banquet of plenty and a reason to want to morph into the painting and become part of this glorious world. |

Thanks Bastet. A feast of Monet is a feast indeed! Thank you, Yann. You honour me too much. I don’t think I could ever begin to equal with words the beauty of the paintings, but thank you for thinking so. I, too, am proud to share the secret with you. Smiles. Yes, Emma, it is a beautiful world, Monet’s world . . . Thank you for your kind words. Owl |

"or lillies floating on a pond with a bridge halo?"- so clever, Diana. Imediately brought the painting to mind. I have always loved Monet. This poem is as lovely as the paintings. |

Thank you Ida, for your kind and lovely comments. I don't believe, though, that I could ever write anything as lovely as Monet's paintings. I am thrilled you enjoy Monet so much too. Have you ever seen me in any of his paintings - I slip into so many of them, and simply refuse to come out! Owl |

I would suppose that Monet would be honored to have your words associated with his work...this one truly lends itself to reading aloud...it is excellent! Thank you for taking us on your tour. |

I know you're having problems connecting, but when you've time, there's an "OWL" poem for you to read....and of course, I came back here to read of Monet once again, because I was hungry! ![]() ![]() |

Wow, Steaven, I can't imagine Monet having been honoured by my humble scribbles, but thank you! I especially love that you feel that the poem lends itself to being read aloud. Yes, the tour I had was too perfect not to share. Thank you, Karilea - yes, the (exquisite) Spirit of the Owl - my first night back online after days of non-connection forced Pip abstinence. After 7 days of sheer hell with my new wireless (and connectionless) connection, it seems that all is sorted out and I am looking forward to as much connection as my previous non-connections! Owl |
