My momma’s been around me when I bake Often enough to know that Oops Means Theresflouronthefloor Flouronthecounter Flourintheair Flourunderthosecansofbeanssittingtherewithnospaceunderthem Flour…everywhere. Oops Means That bread dough that I left here to rise Rose a little more than I expected And is halfway to china By now. But…I’m not sure she knows That Oops Means Idon’tknowthephysics Andidon’tknowvelocity Andthemixerjustkindawent…. Oops. And oops means Iloveyoumomma, Youtaughtmehowtobake Andtyemyshoesandbrushmyhairand Iknowyouhate Being the one to clean the kitchen when I’m done. I always say I’ll do it, and I do…. Untiligetdistractedandrunoftodosomethingelseand then I come back, and you’re cleaning. If you had left it, I would have finished. I promise. Its just….there were other things to do. And momma? Oops… Doesn’t always mean a mess, a mistake. Sometimes, it means …okay, well, yes, it does mean a mess, always, but can’t we make it fun? Remember:Tuck your chin, you're going to get hurt, so expect it and be ready. You might as well see it coming. |

Oh my gumbo. I can't explain why but this piece truly moves my heart. I think this is very well done and conveys a serious & solemn perspective from a child's eye view. "High four" on this one (sorry, Gollum bit one of my fingers off). ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· "Look! Crumbs on his jacketses... Heeee took it!" |

Hope that was a nice, long, crusty loaf of French bread. Suicidal twin kills sister by mistake! |

Very cute and clever. I loved the runonwords because it is you, always on the run having many things to do at once. latearrival. |

I really like this - it reminds me of me when I try to make a pie shell. I can bake bread really well, but biscuits and pie shells? Oh man, I am more like Dark. Cover your ears and duck because the flour is flying! Alison |

I could never have the talent to bake but this poem is great! Eric Love does not look after it's own interests. |
