TENTATIVE
31 March 2011

Furtive fingers stroking
deeply textured bark
like going up steps
two at a time
when nobody is looking
or remembering forever
that you have touched
Poseidon’s temple at Sounion
for a nanosecond.

..yes, they're precious diamonds, these
worry beads, these memories, whose interconnectedness
inspires one to think of one's likeness to the all-knowing diamonds above rejoicing
over the continuing, virtuous lyricism
of similar breath..much enjoyed your poem
