a bowl of soup a thin mattress to lie on a woman's smile a tenuous touch of a breast a sip of red wine a mark on your mouth from its nectar a laugh at nothing a soft sigh, remembering a dogs cold, wet nose a friend until the very end a drop of rain a race to the nearest shelter a host of memories a treasure chest of proof a newspaper item a school chum died so young a year passes by a joy you feel at still being alive a sweetness of life a caring about the here and now a bowl of soup a thin mattress to lie on ©March 14, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Yep, Lori, with time comes the things we all ignore and take for granted, the simple things which make us who we are. Thank you for being here. Word Weaver, I am happy that you found my effort pleasing, and thank you also. So happy to see that you liked my poem, Blues, I appreciate you stopping by, reading and commenting. ~ My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses.
