She touched her mothers shoulder Her tears falling under the beats of The roman candle in the back round. Her shirt was gently falling off her right shoulder Her hair softly twisting in-between her mothers index fingers She murmured the words of being cold As her shadow began to lose it's silhouette against the French doors leading to the kitchen corridors Her mother sang to her "on the soft edge of the world Where the sky use to turn Sat a small bird named Sophie Waiting to fly once her wings were fully grown..." She hummed Until her daughter drifted off Until her daughterÕs Tears were like the vineyards of their backyard Just ripe enough for each tear To reach the floor And become apart of her mothers lap. Softly she lay to sleep In her mothers care Under the wings of a gentle stare. [This message has been edited by Tomer (03-16-2011 12:28 PM).] |
