where are all the
long gone beautiful people
i went to rallies with
hated my parents with
locked lips with
and lstened to
janis joplin with?

where are all the
long gone lets-be-real
beautiful people that
were so cool and never
minded other peoples driving
or second hand smoke too much
who when they looked around saw
each other as brothers and sisters?

maybe they weren't
really all that beautiful
and just maybe lots of them
aren't even alive anymore
but still i miss the love-beaded
faded blue jean let's-get-down
and funky days when we still
knew how to trust one another
and most of all stuck togeher

There must be a poem in here somewhere.

I happen to know there's a bunch of 'em hanging out in that virtual reality game called "Second Life".

(I go there from time to time when I feel like dancin'.)

Both you and Jerry are tuned in to my "whatever" happened to mood today. Occasionally I do run into one or two of 'em and sometimes it's nice, but most times? *wince*

So I quit Facebook.

and *shrug*

Oh, I believe they are still around. Some have gone to greener pastures, some became the preps of the world but some still exist in places like Vermont and New Hampshire.

Great write. I enjoyed it and it brought lots of memories flooding back.

seems that the "long gone beautiful people" that I once knew (all of us were going to 'blow that Popsicle joint' we all grew up in and then change the world) seemed to have returned from Dreamland and are once again back at start just holding the stick...I just can't bring myself to return to Go (I seem to be stuck on the Chance space just before Free Parking) ...maybe I will roll doubles this time...
