You're not alone, Diana. Here in the states, it's not only copper, but the fertilizer farmers use for their crops that get stolen overnight! I'm so sorry for the troubles that the thieves brought to you, but for your sense of invasion and lack of privacy. All I can send is my love, and prayers that you have a better rest tonight, my dear. |

Someone stole the copper out of your walls? That is horrible. It's like raping your house. I am sorry, Diana. xooxxo A |

Aw Diana that's really a drag. It makes one actually feel violated. Hope you can get everything back together OK. Hope they'll leave you alone after this. This is graphic but it's what happens to them when they try and steal copper wire Sorry for this but thieves don't know what they're getting into when they enter another person's privacy. Thanks, Karilea. Gosh! Fertilizer! Thanks, Alison. Yes, it’s awful and it happened twice, once on Friday, and then again on Monday, and on Tuesday I had an intruder, the details of which I put in my message to Linday tonight. My little hero-doggie, Benji alerted me to him. Fortunately it was after work and I was home, so he didn’t get anything or do any damage. I think he may have been the copper thief. Thanks, Eric, but ohhh ouch! Thanks for your kind concern, Yann. I have had literally dozens and dozens of burglaries – but my security is good now, but if “they” want to get in anywhere they always can. So far, I haven’t been hurt. Even when I was gagged and bound in October 2000, I only had a few bruises and suchlike from the ropes and the tape around my mouth and a little bit to my head when they pushed me up against the wall! when I first read this, I thought to myself, "Are you kidding me" but when I read one of your comments about being bound & gagged, disbelief turned into shock...guess we can take things for granted sometimes...btw, riveting write |

Thanks, Steaven. Crime is bad here, but in our area, we are managing to reduce it. There is a lot of violence and injuries and deaths, but I, personally, haven't experienced anything too bad. Smiles. Owl |

I'm am so sorry to hear about this, Diana. It is hard to believe that people do things like this but I know they do. I heard on the news that they were stealing the copper vases from the the cemetery. Please stay safe. Love , Ida |

What a violation! They'll get theirs... Meanwhile, I'm glad you are okay, and hope your life returns to normal again. I'll be thinking about you. misC |

My dear sweet friend, with each invasion of your house and home over the past few years, the thieves have taken more than "things". They have take with them your peace of mind. I am so proud of how you aimed to improve the safety for yourself and your neighbours by forming a neighbourhood watch. It's a step in the right direction. You don't just sit idly by. You're pro-active! May God and His angels protect you. Words cannot express how deeply I have been affected by all of your trials and tribulations. I love you, girlfriend. Linda |

Thanks, Misc for your kind thoughts. It has been hectic. I am now trying to catch up on all the things I should have done instead of dealing with all of that - still haven't got the insurance claim in yet, though. Owl |

Oh, there you are, Linda! I have just got the email notification that you had replied. You must have replied while I was replying to Miscellanea. Yes, Linda, you are right, but I manage to deal better with them now - well, perhaps it is because the last few haven't got into my house. It is 2007 since any of them did - she says, touching very good quality wood (her head). I hope I haven't jinxed that now. My son said I did an excellent job in my very quick relaying of information to him and to my security company and in my description of the third (or the same as the first and second) intruder - the one he would have caught along with the police and a fellow reservist who were late in being the backup - if they had got there earlier. Yes, for many years, I had very little peace of mind. However, it is returning slowly, but I pretty much always take necessary and unnecessary precautions. It unnerves me a little that intrusions are taking place during the day now. Our patrols have reduced the night crime a lot, but neither I nor most of the other patrollers can patrol during the day as most of us are out at work. Thank you for being proud of me. I try to do my bit, but would love to be able to make the time (and money) to do much more. Yes, I am usually not very patient when something needs to be done and would rather do it myself than watch others (not?) do it or do it ineffectively. You are such a sweetie to care. I think that is what we all need most in all the world, far more than anything else - for people to care - as I said in a fairly recently written and posted poem, whose title escapes me right now. I love you, too, girlfriend, and OH HOW GREAT IT IS - a weight of my and I am sure everyone else's shoulders that WE HAVE LINDA BACK!!! Now, take it easy, and rest as much as you can and more. Love Owl |
