Whenever Alex Cats came to town We all wanted good advice, from him. He was a cat from brow on down Clean, happy, funny, and trim. He was always pleasantly displayed In a race he either won or placed He was at the head of every parade. Every test he took he aced To all of us he was a king. He always had a smiling face. The merry-go-round always gave him the ring He never bragged, he knew his place. To his reputation he tightly clung But he had demons below inside We thought his worries he quickly flung But the demons he could not abide. So one pleasant summer day At lunch he lightly fed. And then he through his life away. And put a rope around his head. |

How tragic... ~ Like the proverbial smiling, happy clown who is crying on the inside. So sad. Hi, GBride! Welcome to piptalk! Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug, Earth Angel |

Yo GBride, This is a good take-off of Edwin Arlington Robinson's "Miniver Cheevy". I like it. You put some humor, and a cat in it, and that's a very good thing. Keep up the good work. Bobby [This message has been edited by Robert E. Jordan (07-18-2009 10:30 AM).] |

Welcome to Passions In Poetry! This was a character study that is all too familiar to some, but the ending hopefully is different for most. There is always a solution, always hope. |

To be always the winner can give some kind of "addiction" to be always the first and when things change, the forever winner can't cope. It's sad, but often true. Welcome to Pip. Captivating and thought provoking first entry. Love, Margherita |

This can be read so many ways... and truthfully, at the first, I saw a carnival and its' rides in action and stride... Of course, it has a lot to do with wording, grammar and spelling.... but you made me think, and to read thrice... Welcome to Passions! Please check your email for a Very Special Greeting! Wow! Your captivating poem really took me for a loop. I pictured an easy-going character, and then... I guess there's a part of us and of others that is masked and nearly impossible to read. (I hope such tragedy has not occurred...) BTW, welcome to Piptalk, a great place to be. miscellanea |
