 While I’m Asleep by Linda L. Dowd While I’m asleep, sweet dreams I weave. ~ Drift off to lands of Make Believe. I sail across the starlit skies, Until the morn when I arise. I’m wrapped in dreams each summer’s eve. I carry fairies on my sleeve. They hang on tight and dare not leave. I see the wonder in their eyes. ~ While I’m asleep. The countless blessings I receive, From distant travels I perceive, Have led me to a paradise, Where all is pure and all are wise. As I aspire ~ I will achieve. ~ While I’m asleep. . |

My dear Daisy Dolphina, your precious reference to me being a Fairy Queen, brought to mind an essay I wrote in Grade 7 (12 years of age). I remember the last line vividly because the whole class broke out laughing. "~ For I'm the Queen of Fairies!" Now if only we could time travel, I would have them read your reply! I really like this poem. I don't know too much about this style but regardless I really like it. I have also written a poem about sleep...its called "I can only want you when you are sleeping." its on my blog if you want to read a poem about the same topic(sleep). my blog spot is poetryandwatertogo.blogspot.com. |
