‘May I kiss you?’ she asked
Knowing full well the answer
‘Only forever’ I replied
In blushing whisper
A plea voiced tender
That shall not be denied

‘May I touch you?’ she asked
As fingers traced my cheek
‘Only forever’ I replied
With trembling lips so meek
Downward to her eyes to seek
For they were opened wide

‘May I love you?’ she asked
And began to pledge her plight
‘Only forever’ I replied
And held her through dying light
As dusk deepened to starry night
As she softly cried

My eyes literally teared up with the tenderness of this precious, innocent ~ and deeply romantic ~ poem. If more men were as gentle, loving and as sensitive as you are, there would be many more happy women on this planet.

There was something extremely special about thid poem. I love your writing.
