Why can't you just love me? |

Why can't you just love me, the way you used to. I'm tired of fighting, I don't want to argue. I want to be held, and cuddled at night. Don't want to point fingers, or decide who is "right". I just want to love you, with all of my heart. I want us to be, like we were, from the start. In the beginning, I was Nineteen. You called me "Beautiful", treated me like a Queen. You opened my car door, and kissed my forehead. We joked and we laughed, talked for hours in bed. Now here I am, Twenty years old. Our relationship's unraveling, It's starting to unfold. At times, I feel alone, even when you're near. At times, I sit and wonder, if what you told me was sincere. There are days I think, that you don't even care. That instead of being home with me, you'd rather be elsewhere. I never used to feel this way, You gave me lots of attention. Things have changed a lot these days, so much stress, and so much tension. I miss the way we used to be, the happiness we had. The joy we shared about having children, and about you being a dad. Our relationship has changed, you've changed so much. Your smile, your love, your kisses, your touch. You're not the same, and neither are they. Not sure where to begin, or what else to say. It's hard when a relationship gets to that point. I was 16 and didn't realize what was happening until I was 21. Hopefully your ending is happier than mine, considering mine ended in divorce. Arana Darkwolf |

Wow, I remember feeling this way. Then I just made a stiff drink and started writing poetry. |

at twenty, you still have your whole life ahead of you. you deserve better...and you should expect, better. I hope however it works out, that you are happy. |

first, welcome to PiP...then thank you for sharing (thought I must admit I feel torn)...I married when I was nineteen...pursued an education and a career with children...had the good fortune to find love with someone who believed in love forever and now every waking moment after 37 years of marriage, four grown children, life in flux, living all over the country...we are more like nineteen today than we were when we first kissed...nothing is sweeter than a relationship pursued...and shared...with one person...forever... (sorry for the rant) my advice...chin up...write more poetry...love, expecting nothing in return...make it not just your passion, but your profession...be at your best by being at it... |

Fine writing...I suppose their are just as many reasons why we can't love as we can love...it starts with the desire to make the right choices...James |
