A year before last, a year before last, We were young and lively, loud and free. We swam through the river, traversed the wood. We showed them our innocence, our love of brotherhood. But we've changed, we've grown. We've split our paths. We've changed, you left. And now I am alone, and this is, I ask. Why must I love you? Why must I cry? Why must I miss you? Why did you die? You left so fast, so quietly quick. I had no chance to save you, no chance to try. I let you go, my friend; but for the truth, I cry. Someday I know, someday I am sure, I'll join you in heaven, I'll join you in peace. Someday I know, someday I am sure, We'll meet again above, embrace and release. But for now I will grieve. I will drown in my pain. I will weave a web of tears, I will build a tower of shame. And I'll move on, eventually. I'll relax, eventually. I'll become calm, eventually. But for now I listen, I gaze, and I reflect. And I remember the importance, the unsung truth. That love is forever, and sometime again. We will connect.
