~ Moonlight Bay ~ Memories bring back to me Starlit nights and moonlit sea While a boat at anchor lay In a little land-locked bay The heady scent of lilac trees Reached us on the gentle breeze And the murmur of the rills From the dark, encircling hills And upon that night in June Oh, how brightly shone the moon With another moon, her daughter Replicated in the water Never shall the night again Hold the magic it did then And never shall so bright a moon Shine upon a night in June Youth sees life with happy eyes We were young and none too wise June is something to remember In the darkness of November.... |

Love, love, love this. I really like the moon in June parts, reminding me of a poem I wrote long ago. And the depth in the last stanza was perfect, in bringing a conclusion to the poem. |
