I miss the danger of youth in me I kiss the anger of truth in me Before I forget all of it again Just one more time to shout to the end Never said I would be myself Only this, that is to know thyself Yet always there is that thing In back of the mind where I bring The baggage of the journey The weight I struggle to carry And still there it is as we come to this Just out of reach from my tightened fist How it was always me How in the end, it would always be Tried to promise over and over to myself Lied to say, ‘to always know thyself’ |
