With my first breath, I breathed your name It was you somehow before anyone else I called, but I called in vain And I remained lost within myself Why each of us must choose I never understood until now The part we play not to lose, Yet time lost forever is allowed Wanting you like the very first breath Two moths to the same bright flame Burning ever so slight, cheating death Both held aloft by whispers of your name And time moves along quicker still Everything a blur of that and this Like things in life always will Things you search ever for, and miss Face to face we ageless stand There you are out of reach As every word carved in sand By the waves upon the beach Flash forward to the end of it all The skies threaten with unending rain, Silently the drops begin to fall As with my last breath, I breathe your name |

Good morning, CG! "Two moths to the same bright flame Burning ever so slight, cheating death" Only a writer with a poetic heart, could have penned that kind of attraction as aptly ~ or as expertly ~ as you have just done. Some things are worth having your wings singed for. ![]() EA |

Thank you EA, may your wings be forever singed, just not burned. Susie-Q, what can I say? Thanks. I really am bored at work today, who wants to sneak out for some drinks? |

Did someone say drinks? *perking up* Would those drinks be of the inebriating variety? LOL I want! I want! *G* This poem is certainly not wanting, though...It's absolutely beautiful and touches me deeply... *S* Excellent!!! |

The first and last stanzas just blow me away! This poem left me sighing, too. Tara |
