The sky was autumn clear Crystal and liquid blue The sea a faint white line Like chalk against the view Snow covered loch and glen Where grouse and wood dove brood The aspens were in flame Fringing the evergreen wood Then suddenly I saw him A stag in youthful prime Proud and unafraid Antlers spread in branch design His muscles shone in ripples On flanks of toffee brown As he stood in regal silence Against the lights of town And as the dusk crept slowly He made his way past, down Towards the far-off valley Moss trailing from his crown It was I who was the stranger Interloper in his world On a spell enchanted evening When the crimson sunset curled..... |

Dear 2 , oh, how this stirred my Scottish blood and made me yearn, even more, to visit the land of my forebears. Beautifully penned, lassie! EA P.S. What a pleasant surprise to see your pretty, smiling face! |

And yet another most beautiful gift from you, dear H2H. A moment lived in all its sacredness, a meeting of worlds. Love, Margherita |

The sky was autumn clear Crystal and liquid blue The sea a faint white line Like chalk against the view These lines captured me and brought me in, and the rest were just as beautiful. Makes me read again and again. |

Thanks Marchmadness :-) I'm thinking of publishing and have actually been approached by a serious publisher in the UK looking for a writer of nature poems, but I've told them I need a hobby when I retire one day, so they are willing to wait, not bad !. I don't have the time to do this now any way, it means a lot of work and I have a full time job as it is. Heart2Heart |
