I have found that tunnel in the sky sometimes where the wind moves my face around on the bones as if a child were playing in leathery clay when lonesome rain drops strum the spokes a note at a time like a gypsy lover that isn't blind, but has her eyes closed and is playing with her own heart instead of her hands when the echos of a metal man's thunder find the mirrors of the sky and come back with their brothers louder then before as if noise would cause fear to one that never listens even to god and then there is that quiet place in short sleeves waiting like a stop light with both feet up balanced in wondering will she ever be there if I close my eyes and dream or should I just pretend she is on another man's highway _______________ daark (highway series) |
