The world is so silent When memories are deep The dawn wakens slow like a child from sleep The rain has been falling All night as I slept The river is weeping the tears that I’ve wept How long can the sky hold The dark heavy rain How long can a heart hold the dark heavy pain It’s better if stars are Concealed in the night They’re only reflections of sun’s fiery light It’s just an illusion For wide dreamy eyes They all disappear in bright morning skies Tears are illusions To innocent youth They’re only reflections of life and of truth And now in the end memories silently creep But there’s no regret and no tears left to weep |

This is fantastic, Liz (as are most of your works). There is a wealth of feeling woven in these words, laced with a tinge of melancholy. It sets a definite mood...beautiful writing. |

I'll say there is a lot of feeling woven in this. Time to pack up my suitcase and head to Intercourse, PA to view the Clydesdales me thinks? ![]() |
