I was speaking a tale that had been told
That the streets are not paved with gold
And fairy tales don’t come true
False is the promise of contentment
The only thing real is resentment
And heavy is the price overdue

It left me wandering a desolate place
Grim was the doom written on my face
I could hide it no more
Comfort was not to be found again
Indifference was starting to win
I could not now ignore

Just then an angel appeared overhead
Spread wide her wings
And awoke a heart left for dead

I began listening to a tale I never heard
She spoke to me, her eyes as words
And fairy tales do come true
The streets are all paved with gold
Ever endless works of wonder to behold
And skies a deeper shade of blue

The weight of ages lifted from me
For the first time I could easily breathe
I am somehow something more
Life is sacred and new again
Each second is a long lost friend
I know now what I’m living for

Just then the angel, with wings outspread
Enfolded arms about me
And held close to her heart my weary head

This isn't just beautiful... it's inspiring... truly a gift for all who read.

An inspiring work. I agree with Suthern it is a gift to read.  It makes me feel like love lost and new love found.  I like the image of "Enfolded arms about me" the best.

Very pretty, our burdens sometimes take on the weight of the world
and then an angel appears and embraces us with gentle care.
We are truly never alone in this life...

Enjoyed your thoughts, guy!
