Frantic is the pace of life
Always moving with greatest unease
Running rats for hands of clock to seize
To slow that frantic pace
Just to save face
In the race
Of a frantic and hurried life

Cattle herded from here to there
From grazing green to water
From living to slaughter
And all of us in line
Obeying the signs
Just killing time
Breathing artificial air

The enemy time common to all
Never enough or so it seems
The pace only rests in dreams
How to stop no one knows
Speeding up as it goes
Only once it slows
Just before the great fall

Just one question... when did you visit my office??

You've written some hard truths... and it seems to be even worse during this season when we really should be slowing down, reflecting, embracing loved ones and giving thanks for the reason rather than chasing sales.

Superb write!

Wow, so true! But I have learned to slow down every day a little bit to meditate for a while. We must allow our soul to recharge every now and then, as often we even don't sleep enough!

Powerful write!

Love,
Margherita

Hey, sometimes you just have to jump the fence and get out of the cow patties.  Run away!  Run away!  Find pastorial pastures and take a breath.

That's how I see it anyway -- and I like your poem lots.
