I promise you, I'm no threat To good times, or 'time' in general I swear I'm making sense I'm just talking backwards Because being straight forward never got me ahead in life Just a head full of doubt My comeback comment came way too late I never thought that'd you stoop low enough to bring up my own personal past Until I remembered when I used to draw blanks Always using them to scribble mental reminders About how humanity really acts Don't get me wrong, I know I'm hardly ever right But we're both aware I wear no ring - only the chain around my neck Tying me down To God knows what Emily Shives 12-15-09 |
